"Tom’s sculpture practice and design projects are closely related, with each informing the concept and process of the other. Inspired by the architects and designers of the Modernist movement, Tom approaches his work with a fidelity to the natural properties of his materials of choice; concrete and recycled metals. His sculptures celebrate the raw, industrial combination of cast concrete and steel, drawing together the notions of form and space and proposing a sense of fluidity between the two."
